Job summary

Goodwill San Antonio is seeking a Specialist – Career Services to help program participants find and retain employment through job readiness and placement services in a community-focused nonprofit environment.

You will manage a caseload, conduct intake assessments, develop Individual Service Plans, prepare resumes, provide interview coaching, and connect participants with employers, leveraging high-touch engagement to maximize placement success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience accepted.
• 1-3 years experience in case management or employment services.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, both verbal and written.
• Career readiness, resume writing, or staffing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Upholds and models Goodwill's mission, core values, and servant leadership philosophy.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and concerns professionally.
• Receive referrals from program staff and ensure a seamless transition for participants.
• Conduct intake assessments to identify goals and support participants in overcoming barriers.
• Develop an Individual Service Plan led by the participant tying goals to resources.
• Prepare resumes and cover letters aligned with career objectives and coach for quality job applications.
• Collaborate with the Community Relations Team to research job boards and obtain high-quality job leads.
• Conduct mock interviews to build participants’ skills and confidence in the hiring process.
• Regularly update participants’ progress and ensure all plan components are implemented.
• Identify barriers and provide encouragement and guidance including support resources.
