Job summary

University of New England in Maine seeks a Career Programming and Engagement Coordinator to lead career programming, strategic communications, and platform management for UNE CareerConnect. You will promote student engagement with career readiness through events, social media, and digital content.

The role collaborates with the Office of Career Readiness and Workforce Development to showcase employer partnerships and alumni career pathways across UNE’s campuses and online offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, higher education administration, business administration, public relations, student affairs, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, manage timelines, and execute events and initiatives with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, employer partners, and external stakeholders.
• Experience creating and managing digital communications, including social media platforms, website content, email marketing, and other promotional materials.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and contemporary communication, collaboration, and digital marketing tools.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while exercising sound judgment, initiative, and professionalism.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered environment and building collaborative relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that promote career programming and engagement initiatives.
• Manage UNE CareerConnect digital presence, including social media, website content, newsletters, and promotional materials.
• Create engaging multimedia content showing student success stories and employer spotlights.
• Coordinate branding collateral with UNE Marketing and Communications teams.
• Maintain an annual communications calendar and run promotional campaigns across channels.
• Analyze engagement metrics to inform improvements and outcomes.
• Plan and execute career fairs, networking events, workshops, panels, and other engagement programs.
• Oversee event logistics including registration, technology, facilities, catering, and volunteers.
