Job summary

Lao Family Community Development, Inc. (LFCD) in Oakland seeks a Career Coach to prepare and place CalWORKs, GA, and CalFresh recipients into unsubsidized or subsidized employment at CPET offices in North Oakland.

You will conduct intake assessments, set up employment plans, provide case management, and connect participants with training, job clubs, and employer outreach to support long‑term placement and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social work, psychology, or related field.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in similar work or 3–4 years in case management and direct services.
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with participants and promote program participation.
• Develop training plans and collect documentation to verify job placement.
• Lead Welfare-to-Work orientation, CalFresh sessions, and job clubs.
• Track attendance and input data into CalSAWS database.
• Coordinate in-person meetings with participants and worksite supervisors.
• Attend trainings and maintain required certifications.
