Job summary

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education seeks a licensed counselor to guide people with disabilities toward meaningful employment. You will use evidence-based counseling and client-centered planning to support career goals.

You will travel within the community for training and collaborate with educators, employers, and service providers to create sustainable job opportunities and promote client success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, guidance and counseling, psychology, social work, or closely related field.
• Code of Federal Regulations definitions cited for qualifications may apply.
• Other qualifications may be accepted in lieu of the above.

Responsibilities

• Counsel individuals to identify interests, skills, barriers, and support needs related to employment.
• Build trusting relationships and encourage self-advocacy and informed decision-making.
• Coordinate with employers, community partners, and services to create opportunities.
