Responsibilities include exploring careers, guiding college options, and coordinating work-based experiences and self-advocacy development, with extensive travel across service regions.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in early childhood education or related field required.
• MO teaching certificate or substitute teaching certification required.
• 3–4 years of teaching or counseling experience with exposure to state agencies, school staff, and students in Missouri secondary schools.

Responsibilities

• Job Exploration Counseling: assess student career interests and provide insights on in-demand jobs and local labor markets.
• Postsecondary Education Counseling: guide college training options and educate on disability support services and financial aid.
• Workplace Readiness Training: teach punctuality, teamwork, communication, transportation planning, and financial literacy; assist with resumes and mock interviews.
• Work-Based Learning Experiences: coordinate with LEA, VR counselors, and local businesses for job shadows and guest speakers.
• Self-Advocacy & Peer Mentoring: promote self-determination and youth leadership opportunities.
