Job summary

Durham Exchange Club Industries (DECI) seeks a passionate Job Placement Coordinator to help individuals with disabilities secure competitive employment and independence across Person, Granville and Vance Counties. You will coach, advocate, train, and connect with local businesses to create meaningful career pathways.

Responsibilities include job development, interviews facilitation, and customized training while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with agencies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; relevant bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum four years of work experience in a related field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to become certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI-A).
• Strengths in organization, communication, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining meaningful, competitive employment.
• Develop relationships with local employers and identify opportunities aligned with participants’ skills.
• Conduct job development activities including customized employment opportunities.
• Participate in person-centered planning meetings with sponsoring agencies.
• Accompany individuals to interviews and assist with applications, resumes, and prep.
• Match candidates with opportunities and pursue annual placement goals.
• Analyze tasks and conduct job task analyses to support training.
• Develop individualized training plans and workplace interventions.
• Provide hands-on coaching and support to learn job duties.
• Promote work habits, professionalism, and career readiness.
• Assist in achieving independence and long-term employment success.
• Identify accommodations and assistive technology solutions.
• Facilitate weekly Job Club meetings and share employment leads.
• Maintain documentation and communication with stakeholders.
