Job summary

Durham Exchange Club Industries (DECI) is seeking a passionate Job Placement Coordinator to help individuals with disabilities explore strengths, secure competitive employment, and thrive in local workplaces across Person, Granville and Vance Counties.

You will serve as a career coach, advocate, trainer, and community connector, partnering with local businesses to create meaningful opportunities and support long-term employment success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of four years of related work experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to become certified in NCI-A techniques.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Understanding of confidentiality and rights of individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining meaningful, competitive employment.
• Develop relationships with local employers and identify opportunities.
• Conduct job development activities including job carving and customized employment.
• Participate in person-centered planning meetings with sponsoring agencies.
• Accompany individuals to interviews and assist with applications and resumes.
• Match candidates with employment opportunities and work toward annual placement goals.
• Provide hands-on coaching and support to learn job duties and meet employer expectations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and case notes in accordance with requirements.
