Job summary

JobTrain in the Bay Area seeks an Employment Specialist to join the Career Center team and support clients on the path to employment and long-term mobility.

You will guide clients to services, co-create individualized employment plans, and manage a caseload while coordinating with employers and partners. Travel within Santa Clara and San Mateo counties is required, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Caseload management and client employment needs assessment
• Excellent customer service and rapport-building
• Spanish language ability highly desirable
• Facilitation and public speaking for workshops
• Empathy, equity, inclusion in approach
• Knowledge of grant-funded programs and reporting
• Proficiency in MS Office and spreadsheets
• Ability to travel within Santa Clara & San Mateo Counties

Responsibilities

• Connect and guide clients to services based on JobTrain offerings
• One-on-one client meetings to assess needs and barriers to employment
• Develop and co-create an Individual Employment Service Plan with the client
• Manage a caseload with ongoing follow-up to one year
• Build relationships with clients, employers, and community partners
• Represent JobTrain at outreach events and workshops
• Deliver and report timely outcomes and program deliverables
• Conduct cold calls to employers and recruiters
• Coordinate job development activities with other organizations
• Collaborate with staff to improve career center processes
