Job summary

Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) is a Boston-based nonprofit hiring an Employment & Education Specialist to support mentoring staff with career coaching, planning, and job readiness services. The role includes resume writing, interview prep, and coordinating education and training opportunities.

The position is full-time with a hybrid schedule (36 hours over four days, 2 days in-office and 2 days remote) in the Boston metro.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
• Two to four years of education counseling and/or education experience.
• Experience promoting economic mobility among low-income families is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide career planning and exploration assistance and coaching.
• Assist participants with enrollment in education programs and training.
• Advise on certificates, FAFSA, financial aid, and student loan planning.
• Develop relationships with local employers and training providers.
• Deliver career readiness workshops and job search support.
