Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Career Advisor in McKinney, TX to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services for WIOA participants. The role requires onsite work and collaboration with program staff to determine eligibility and develop employment plans.

Strong communication, Excel/Word skills, and a drive to help job seekers are essential. Travel up to 30% may be required to engage with community partners and employers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and knowledge of community resources.
• MS Word and Excel at minimum; ability to learn databases and software.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to the community and eligible participants.
• Collaborate with the Intake Specialist to determine eligibility for the workforce program.
• Assess jobseekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs via interviews and testing.
• Serve as a liaison between workforce programs and community partners.
• Enter data into VOS and manage participant information systems as required.
• Guide job seekers through individual employment plans based on goals.
• Stay updated on labor market trends and best practices.
• Counsel clients on job opportunities, training programs, and services.
• Refer individuals to services and follow up on activities.
• Conduct orientations, workshops, and group sessions for clients.
• Maintain compliant and complete case files and eligibility documents.
• Meet or exceed program benchmarks; participate in staff events and training.
• Complete all required reports in the data management system.
• Approach tasks with a proactive, resourceful mindset.
• Handle other duties as needed for program success.
