Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Career Advisor – Youth in Plano, TX to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow‑up services to young adults eligible for the WIOA program. You’ll guide employment, training, and education pursuits, serving as a liaison with partners and delivering high‑touch client care.

You will conduct intake, eligibility determinations, and develop individual employment plans, while ensuring data integrity and compliance across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound decision-making.
• Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn databases.
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive.
• Motivate clients toward achieving goals and meet objectives.
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of the WIOA program and workforce requirements.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services in WIOA Youth.
• Complete intake and eligibility determinations.
• Assess job seekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs.
• Liaise between workforce programs and community partners.
• Present the required 14 Youth Program Elements to youth.
• Support Youth in Work Experience (WEX) opportunities.
• Build relationships with juvenile justice centers and schools.
• Enter data in Work In Texas and related systems.
• Guide IEP development for goals.
• Monitor labor market trends and best practices.
• Counsel on job and education opportunities.
• Refer to services and follow up on activities.
• Conduct orientations, workshops, and job clubs.
• Maintain compliant eligibility documents.
• Meet program benchmarks and participate in staff events.
• Complete reports in the data system.
