Volunteers of America Mid-States seeks a Career Coach to guide participants through employment journeys, from planning to placement and retention. You’ll collaborate with employers, partners, and staff to deliver comprehensive support and ensure sustainable outcomes.
The role requires strong judgment, relationship skills, and adherence to grant and policy requirements to empower participants toward self-sufficiency.
Volunteers of America Mid-States (VOA) is a nonprofit organization serving four states, dedicated to creating positive change through a ministry of service. The Career Coach provides comprehensive workforce development and case management services to individuals participating in VOA workforce programs. This position is responsible for guiding participants through every stage of the employment process, including career planning, workforce readiness, job placement, retention, and career advancement. The Career Coach works collaboratively with employers, community partners, and internal staff to ensure participants receive the support, resources, and services needed to achieve sustainable employment and self-sufficiency. This position requires strong professional judgment, relationship‑building skills, and the ability to maintain compliance with grant requirements, documentation standards, and organizational policies.
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business, Education, Workforce Development, Counseling, or a related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Minimum one year of experience in workforce development, employment services, case management, vocational rehabilitation, behavioral health, recovery support, or a related field preferred. Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred.
