Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certificate or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Eligible to sit for the national certification exam within 18 months of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a medical assistant in ambulatory care (3 years preferred).
• Experience navigating an EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist with registration and check-in procedures.
• Assist providers with clinical tasks and basic patient care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Manage patient flow, scheduling, and communication of appointment times.
• Verify insurance, collect co-pays, and handle cash reconciliation at day end.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and arrange follow-up appointments.
• Support campaigns and outreach to identify at-risk patients and close care gaps.
