Job summary

Ibis Healthcare in Tampa is seeking a Forensic Specialist/Case Manager to provide advocacy, coordination, and continuity of evidence-based care for individuals and families. You will participate as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, ensure all court orders are up-to-date, attend court hearings, and support competency restoration training.

A Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field and at least 1 year of mental health experience are required.

Job description

The Forensic Specialist/Case Manager provides advocacy, coordination, and continuity of evidence-based care for individuals and families in need through a collaborative process of triage, assessment, planning, and communication. Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Responsible for ensuring all court orders are up-to-date and in client files. Attending court hearings, staffing cases with attorneys, and providing competency restoration training. Reports to the unit/department supervisor/team lead.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services-related discipline and at least 1 year of experience in the mental health field. (Child welfare programs require 2 years of experience with at-risk populations and a child welfare certification. )
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical records, procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and document clinical activities and effectively communicate verbally with, provide information to, and respond to questions from managers, patients, service providers, managed care entities, family members, and other stakeholders
• Must have reliable transportation with liability insurance, a valid Florida driver's license, and a good driving record are also required (minimum age requirement of 21 years of age or older).

WORK ENVIROMENT

High-paced, collaborative team performance with the emphasis on critical thinking and decision-making with guidance from the program supervisor/manager. Climate-controlled office environments with frequent exposure to clients. Some programs may require traveling within Hillsborough County via personal vehicle or agency vehicle to facilitate in-home client services in a variety of socioeconomic neighborhoods.
