Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates or advanced degree preferred.
• Two (2) years administrative experience required.
• Two (2) years' experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Clerical experience in utilization management, discharge planning or case management is a plus.
• One year of ICD9/CPT Coding or Medical Terminology experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors and staff; screens calls and routes appropriately.
• Communicates clinical information to payers to obtain authorizations and documents in EMR.
• Participates in discharge planning and coordinates with post-acute providers.
• Provides timely feedback on payer determinations to optimize patient care plans.
• Acts as a placement resource for post-acute needs and coordinates with care managers.
• Maintains confidentiality and ensures payer and customer satisfaction through professional communication.
• Prioritizes tasks to ensure efficient use of time and may back up Administrative Assistant.
