Blue Central Group is seeking a proactive Maintenance Assistant for our long-term care facility. You will maintain and repair building systems to ensure safety and comfort for residents, while keeping documentation up to date.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance in a long-term care or residential setting.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools and electrical testing equipment.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding and painting.
• Ability to read schematics for troubleshooting.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and interior components.
• Repair electrical systems and troubleshoot using schematics.
• Maintain plumbing systems and fix leaks, replace fixtures, ensure drainage.
• Use hand tools, power tools, PLCs and ohmmeters to complete tasks.
• Carry out carpentry, painting and general facilities upkeep.
• Assist with welding tasks following safety protocols.
• Support HVAC repair efforts and document activities with records.
• Collaborate with team on projects and supervise where needed.
• Provide courteous service by addressing staff and resident requests promptly.
