Job summary

The Warren Center is seeking a Cook responsible for food preparation in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, with our policies, and as directed by the Dietitian and Director of Food Services, to ensure quality meals.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, assisting in developing policies, coordinating with other departments, planning diet menus, and ensuring procedures follow policies; you will work with the dietitian to implement changes and cover every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year dietary/food service experience preferred but not required.
• State Food Service Sanitation certification is required.
• Ability to read, speak and write English clearly.
• Able to work independently with residents and staff.
• Weekend rotation every other week.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Assist in developing, implementing and coordinating department policies, procedures, and food service manuals.
• Interpret department policies to personnel, residents, visitors and family members as necessary.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by the physician.
• Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility's dietitian and implement recommended changes.
• Ensure all food service procedures follow established policies.
