Job summary

Avir Health Group in Seguin, TX is seeking an experienced Dietary Cook to prepare high-quality hot and cold foods for residents, guests, and staff in accordance with state health rules and facility standards.

You will adjust recipes for servings, test new dishes, and may supervise kitchen helpers to ensure meals meet modified diets and nutritional needs. Prior nursing home or healthcare food service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous nursing home experience preferred
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a healthcare facility preferred

• Utilize cooking equipment and techniques to prepare hot and cold foods.
• Prepare simple food regimes and modified diets for residents.
• Adjust recipes to yield required servings.
• Test recipes and recommend changes.
• Cook in batches maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Direct activities of kitchen staff assisting in serving meals.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Dietary Cook to join our team! Prepare and cook high quality hot and cold foods for regular and modified diets for residents, guests, and employees of the facility in accordance with the State Department of Health Rules and Regulations and the standards set forth by the facility by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

Qualifications

• Previous nursing home experience preferred
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a healthcare facility preferred
