Job summary

Marin City Health and Wellness Center is seeking a Referral Coordinator to support patients and clinicians across Bayview San Francisco and Marin City clinics.

You will coordinate authorizations and referrals with insurers, verify eligibility, maintain records, and manage a community resource directory, while delivering excellent service to diverse populations. Strong communication and organization are essential; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in administrative work in healthcare.
• Experience with insurance, referrals, authorizations, and community contacts preferred.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience providing strong customer service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sensitivity to the needs of a multicultural population.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete and process all authorizations and referrals ordered by providers and requested by patients for services inside and outside MCHWC.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility.
• Maintain authorizations/referral information in patient charts via tracking.
• Maintain extensive resource directory for staff and patients to access community resources.
• Know managed care requirements for referrals.
• Ensure superior customer service to patients, including problem resolution.
• Punctuality, regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as directed or assigned.
