Job summary

Polaris Health & Wellness of Ashton Court is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support a long-term care center. You will perform preventative maintenance, electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs, and maintain equipment to meet center needs.

The role includes ensuring a safe, sanitary environment for residents and staff, and may involve training personnel and participating in meetings. Experience in a care facility is preferred.

Qualifications

One year experience in a long term care center preferred.
Ability to read and write English for business necessity.
Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
One year experience in basic trades preferred.
Working knowledge of plant support systems (cooling/heating, emergency systems) preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure a safe, comfortable, sanitary environment for residents, staff and visitors in accordance with Federal, State and Corporate requirements.
Performs preventative maintenance procedures.
Maintains equipment necessary to meet Center needs.
Understands department budget.
Maintains written records and documents of services performed according to Federal, State and Corporate requirements.
May train personnel to meet Center needs.
Participates in assigned meetings and in-services.
May assume role of Director in his absence.
