Job summary

Seven Starling is seeking a Care Advocate to join our Care Support team. The ideal candidate will improve women’s mental health outcomes by delivering compassionate patient support and enabling clinicians with world-class backend support.

You will excel at staying organized, learning new systems, and implementing scalable processes in a high-volume environment, ensuring patients receive timely and effective care. A proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in patient support, customer service, or healthcare-related role.
  • Experience in a remote work environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using standard office applications (e.g., Google Suite).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and proactive approach to patient support.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for patients and providers with empathy and professionalism.
  • Assist with scheduling and rescheduling appointments to maximize engagement and success.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure privacy regulations compliance.
  • Resolve patient or provider issues, escalating complex concerns as needed.
  • Act as the voice of the patient, surfacing learnings to the team.
  • Support patients and providers navigating the healthcare system, explaining procedures and insurance processes.
  • Coordinate care activities, follow-ups, referrals, and communications with other providers.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with best practices and changes.
  • Propose updates to key processes to maintain efficiency.

Position Overview

Seven Starling is looking to add a world-class Care Advocate to join our Care Support team. Our ideal candidate is an experienced support professional who is passionate about improving women’s mental health outcomes, and is energized by the opportunity to ensure our patients receive compassionate and effective mental health care and our clinicians treating them receive world class support. You will excel in this role if you have a strong attention to detail, love staying organized, enjoy learning new systems and tools, have experience in high-volume settings, and are skilled at developing and implementing scalable processes that help our operations run efficiently.

What you’ll do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and providers, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Assist with scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments to maximize patient engagement and success, including managing conflicts and optimizing appointment schedules.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring data is up-to-date and compliant with privacy regulations.
  • Assist in the resolution of patient or provider issues or complaints, escalating more complex concerns to the appropriate team members or supervisors.
  • Serve as the “voice of the patient”, keeping a close eye on data and trends from your support work and surfacing learnings to the appropriate team members or supervisors.
  • Provide support to patients and providers navigating the healthcare system, including explaining procedures, insurance processes, and available resources.
  • Coordinate care activities, including follow-up appointments, outside referrals, and coordination with other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices and organizational changes.
  • Propose updates to key processes as needed to maintain them.
Who you are
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a patient support, customer service, or healthcare-related role.
  • Experience in a remote work environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, especially in a high-volume setting. Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using standard office applications (e.g., Google Suite).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to patient support.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.
