Job summary

Seven Starling, a leading virtual provider of women’s behavioral health services, is seeking a Care Advocate to support our Care Support team remotely in the United States. The role focuses on compassionate patient support, scheduling, and coordination of care with clinicians to improve maternal mental health outcomes.

You will work in a high-volume environment, maintaining accurate records, protecting patient privacy, and contributing to scalable care processes to enhance patient and provider

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a high-volume setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with patients and providers.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Remote-work experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for patients and providers with empathy and professionalism.
  • Assist with scheduling and rescheduling appointments to maximize engagement.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure privacy compliance.
  • Resolve patient or provider issues and escalate complex concerns as needed.
  • Act as the voice of the patient by surfacing trends and learnings to the team.
  • Explain procedures, insurance processes, and available resources to patients.
  • Coordinate care activities including follow-ups and referrals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and admin staff to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and contribute to process improvements.

Seven Starling is a leading virtual provider of women's behavioral health services supporting every stage of motherhood. Seven Starling's holistic clinical model combines specialized therapy, peer support, and medication management to effectively treat common perinatal mood disorders like postpartum depression and anxiety, with 94% of patients seeing a clinically significant improvement in their symptoms after completing the program. Seven Starling partners with OBGYN clinics across the country and leading health plans including UnitedHealthCare, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna to make care easily accessible and affordable.

Seven Starling is looking to add a world-class Care Advocate to join our Care Support team. Our ideal candidate is an experienced support professional who is passionate about improving women’s mental health outcomes, and is energized by the opportunity to ensure our patients receive compassionate and effective mental health care and our clinicians treating them receive world class support. You will excel in this role if you have a strong attention to detail, love staying organized, enjoy learning new systems and tools, have experience in high-volume settings, and are skilled at developing and implementing scalable processes that help our operations run efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and providers, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Assist with scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments to maximize patient engagement and success, including managing conflicts and optimizing appointment schedules.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring data is up-to-date and compliant with privacy regulations.
  • Assist in the resolution of patient or provider issues or complaints, escalating more complex concerns to the appropriate team members or supervisors.
  • Serve as the “voice of the patient”, keeping a close eye on data and trends from your support work and surfacing learnings to the appropriate team members or supervisors.
  • Provide support to patients and providers navigating the healthcare system, including explaining procedures, insurance processes, and available resources.
  • Coordinate care activities, including follow-up appointments, outside referrals, and coordination with other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices and organizational changes.
  • Propose updates to key processes as needed to maintain them.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a patient support, customer service, or healthcare-related role.
  • Experience in a remote work environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, especially in a high-volume setting. Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using standard office applications (e.g., Google Suite).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to patient support.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.
