Neighborcare Health is seeking an Eligibility Specialist for the Lake City location to support patients in gaining access to care by enrolling uninsured individuals into insurance coverage and community programs. You will verify household size and income, determine eligibility, and place patients on the sliding fee scale when appropriate.

Competenze

• Must complete WAHBE training and pass certification within 3 months.
• Maintain certification with quarterly trainings and CE.
• Stay current on public insurance programs and eligibility requirements.
• Driver’s license and up-to-date car insurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Mansioni

• Conduct in-depth interviews with patients to assess eligibility for insurance programs and sliding fee discounts.
• Explain program rules clearly in plain, supportive language.
• Gather, verify, and document eligibility information (residency, household size, income).
• Support patients in obtaining documentation, resolving discrepancies, and completing applications.
• Determine initial and renewal eligibility for publicly sponsored programs.
• Perform accurate data entry and research guidelines for eligibility questions.
• Maintain knowledge of health insurance programs and eligibility requirements through training.
• Communicate coverage options to patients clearly and accessibly.
• Partner with Front Desk and Insurance Coordination to connect uninsured patients to services.
• Support insured patients with renewals, plan updates, and changes.
