Job summary

Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Bluffton is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist- Angiography to join the cath lab team. Under supervision, the CVT/RCIS performs diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab and angiographic suite.

The role emphasizes operating physiologic and radiographic equipment, supporting PTCA, stent prep, IABP, and various interventional radiology procedures, while maintaining patient safety and current skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of RCHEP or ASCP/SCP program with RCIS certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• RT license with RCIS certification preferred.
• RCIS certification within two years of hire.
• South Carolina licensure within 90 days of hire.
• SCRQSA certification as an Invasive Specialist required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Operate physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain high standards to achieve quality patient care and keep critical skills current.
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians in the care of patients with cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena.
• Assist with PTCA, stent prep and placement, IABP placement and operation.
• Support interventional radiology procedures including angiograms, biopsies, biliary drains, stenting, embolization, ablation, dialysis access, kyphoplasty.
• Responsibilities may be expanded or restricted at the discretion of the Department Director.

Description

South of Broad Healthcare (SOBH) is expanding access to high-quality, community-based healthcare throughout southern Beaufort County and the surrounding Lowcountry. Grounded by a mission of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, SOBH supports strategic growth designed to bring essential healthcare services closer to the people and communities we serve. At the center of SOBH is Bluffton Community Hospital, a new 28 bed, full-service hospital. Approximately 90,000 square foot facility will include a 24/7 emergency department, an acute inpatient nursing unit, surgical and endoscopy suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, advanced imaging, laboratory services, and additional outpatient capabilities. The hospital is scheduled for completion in late 2026, with patient care anticipated to being early 2027.

Under the direction of the Cardiovascular Services Manager and the charge nurse, performs procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and angiographic suite. The CVT/RCIS works collaboratively with the nurses and physicians in the care of patients with cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena. Specializing in the care of patients undergoing basic diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures: PTCA, stent prep and placement, IABP placement and operation; as well as a variety of interventional radiology procedures including: angiograms, biopsies, biliary drains, stenting, embolization, ablation, dialysis access, and kyphoplasty. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to operating the physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining high standards to achieve quality patient care and keeping critical skills current. Understanding that healthcare delivery is continually evolving, and departmental needs and goals are subject to change, responsibilities may be expanded or restricted at the discretion of the Department Director.

Position Requirements

Education:

• Graduate of CCAHEP or ASCP/SCP program with RCIS certification preferred.


• Bachelor's degree preferred.


• RT license with RCIS certification preferred.

Experience:

• Preferable Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience in the Adult Cardiac Catheterization Lab for more than one year. Must have documented competency in interpretation of EKG and hemodynamics.

Certifications/Licenses:

• RCIS certification required within two years of hire date. South Carolina licensure required within 90 days of completion of certification.


• If hired with RCIS certification, South Carolina licensure required within 90 days of hire.


• SCRQSA certification as an Invasive Specialist required.


• BLS required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).


• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
