Job summary

Beaufort Memorial Hospital is seeking an Emergency Room EMT/Emergency Room Tech to join a growing team in Bluffton. The role supports nursing care under RN supervision, performing essential patient care tasks and maintaining a safe, efficient ED environment. Qualifications include EMT/First Responder/CNA with BLS.

Prior hospital experience and phlebotomy/EKG skills are preferred. This non-exempt, full-time position offers night shifts and opportunities for professional growth within SOBH’s

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Six (6) months hospital or related health care experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy and 12-lead EKG experience preferred.
• First Responder, EMT, Paramedic or CNA certification required; BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists in delivery of nursing care.
• Serves as an integral resource in implementing clinical and technical aspects of care.

**South of Broad Healthcare (SOBH) is expanding access to high-quality, community-based healthcare throughout southern Beaufort County and the surrounding Lowcountry. Grounded by a mission of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, SOBH supports strategic growth designed to bring essential healthcare services closer to the people and communities we serve. At the center of SOBH is Bluffton Community Hospital, a new 28 bed, full-service hospital. Approximately 90,000 square foot facility will include a 24/7 emergency department, an acute inpatient nursing unit, surgical and endoscopy suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, advanced imaging, laboratory services, and additional outpatient capabilities. The hospital is scheduled for completion in late 2026, with patient care anticipated to being early 2027.

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists in delivery of nursing care. Serves as an integral resource in implementing clinical and technical aspects of care. Is attuned to the individual needs of assigned patients and modifies approach to care based on patient needs.

Position Requirements

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent prefered.

Experience:

• Six (6) months hospital or related heatlh care experience preferred. Experience with phlebotomy an d12-lead EKG preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

• First Responder, EMT, Paramedic or CNA certification required.
• BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
