Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Lead RN/Charge Nurse to coordinate patient care on a designated unit, aligning with the Clinical Manager to promote excellence in practice and patient satisfaction. The role requires nursing expertise, staff guidance, and effective resource management.

You will participate in interprofessional collaboration, ensure safe admissions/transfers, and support a culture of high reliability and quality improvement within Mercy Health – Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire).
• Certifications required based on the unit(s) that the leader oversees (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on a designated unit with the Clinical Manager.
• Adjusts the schedule and patient assignments to accommodate acuity, population, resources.
• Communicates with patients and families regarding nursing interventions and care plans.
• Oversees unit operations in the absence of the unit leader and mentors staff.
