Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Science and Medicine Advisor (SMA) for the National Center, based in Dallas, TX, with home-based options available. The SMA guides physicians and researchers to produce scientific statements, guidelines, and educational programs, influencing policy and public-facing materials.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree and clinical experience from an academic medical setting or equivalent.
• Three years of professional adult cardiology clinical experience; eight years preferred.
• Superior writing and communication skills with a publication history.

Responsibilities

• Guide science volunteers in creating statements, guidelines, and programs.
• Consult and approve science aspects for internal staff materials and public-facing content.
• Review content for professional websites and products.
• Summarize current science and medicine for staff and volunteers.
