Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses seeks a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technician to support heart and major vascular surgeries in Aurora, Colorado. You will ensure the CVOR is prepared, sterile, and fully equipped, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists.

Responsibilities include pre‑procedure setup of instrument trays, sterile technique, passing instruments, monitoring specialized equipment, and post‑procedure cleanup and restocking.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• General OR experience or exposure to cardiovascular surgery preferred.
• Optional CVOR certification (e.g., CST‑CVOR from NBSTSA).

Responsibilities

• Pre‑Procedure: prepare CVOR and set up instrument trays (200+ items).
• During Procedure: pass instruments with precision while maintaining sterility.
• Post‑Procedure: assist transfer to recovery and restock the CVOR.
• Monitor and troubleshoot CVOR equipment in coordination with perfusionists and surgeons.
• Maintain accurate instrument and sponge counts.
