Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the OR team under the supervision of the Director of The Comprehensive Pain Center and an RN. You will prepare sterile supplies, assist in the sterile field, and ensure equipment readiness for pediatric to geriatric cases.

You will maintain aseptic technique, participate in quality improvement activities, and help orient new staff while upholding hospital policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current surgical technician certification if hired after 30 June 2013; BLS required.
• One year OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN and collaborate with team to implement care plans.
• Prepare OR, sterile supplies, instruments and maintain sterile field.
• Scrub duties: pass supplies/instruments, sponge/irrigate as directed.
• Verify surgical site and maintain sterile technique.
• Support quality improvement, continuing education, and emergency readiness.
