Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide independent and comprehensive nursing care in a surgical or perioperative setting. The role includes assessment, planning, and evaluation using established nursing protocols, while addressing diverse patient needs and delegating tasks as appropriate.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, has BLS, and anticipates ACLS/PALS within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire (Experienced) / 90 days for new graduates.
• PALS within 30 days of hire / 90 days for new graduates.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.
