Job summary

Kaweah Health is seeking a Student Nurse Intern for the 5T Cardiovascular ICCU/PCU in Visalia, CA. The position is part-time and night shift, reporting to an KH RN preceptor within the 6186 ICCU-15 department.

The SNI collaborates with the care team to support patient care while enrolled in an accredited RN program. The role requires enrollment in RN schooling (3rd/4th semester for ASN/BSN), completion of a skills checklist, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• ASN enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of 3rd semester.
• BSN enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of 4th semester.
• Current CA Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the RN, perform basic bedside care as a Student Nurse Intern.
• Assist with plan of care and involve patients in decisions related to care.
• Document care in the EMR as soon after care occurs as possible.
• Participate in crash cart checks and respond to Code Blue when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow infection control and safety standards.
