Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Critical Care Unit. The role provides competent nursing care, coordinates the nursing process, and supports education and interdisciplinary collaboration in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

The nurse will work 36 hours weekly on rotating 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am shifts, with favorable nurse-to-patient ratios and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process.
• Participate in education programs and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning.
• Demonstrate leadership to promote professional growth and unit goals.
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs and develop care plans with patient/family involvement.
