UNC Health Care’s 5 HV CSICU is seeking a Clinical Nurse IV Team Lead to guide an experienced critical care nursing team in a high-acuity cardiovascular surgical ICU. The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and advanced clinical decision-making on a 70/30 clinical/leadership split.

Ideal candidates bring 2–5 years in ICU/CVICU, leadership experience, and expertise in cardiovascular care, ECMO, and hemodynamic monitoring. Night shifts, on-site at UNC Rex Heart and Vascular Hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years nursing experience in ICU/CVICU or high-acuity critical care.
• Charge nurse or nursing leadership experience.
• Strong cardiovascular assessment and critical care judgment.
• Experience caring for postoperative cardiothoracic or vascular surgery patients.
• Experience with ECMO, mechanical circulatory support, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, evidence-based nursing care to complex cardiovascular and surgical patients.
• Mentor, role model, and clinical resource for nursing staff.
• Coordinate daily unit operations, assignments, patient flow, and patient safety.
• Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and coach nursing staff to support professional development.
• Promote patient safety and evidence-based practice across the care team.
