Job summary

Texas Health Resources is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Cardiovascular Services Clinic in Bedford, TX. This full-time role supports providers across the clinic and involves travel 50% to Arlington and Alliance locations as needed.

Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. The position requires CMA certification, high school diploma, and strong patient-care skills, with opportunities to expand clinical expertise.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification (required).
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience (preferred).
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (preferred) or BCLS required.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support maintained every 2 years and within 90 days Upon Hire (required).
• Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) within 90 days (required).
• NCT - Non-Certified Radiologic Technician training may be required upon hire (preferred).
• EPIC experience encouraged.
• Ability to perform EKGs.
• Proficient computer skills using medical management systems.
• Effective communication with staff and patients.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Demonstrate sound judgement in emergencies.
• Take action in urgent circumstances.
• Positive customer-focused attitude.
• Strong professional work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using CMA processes.
• Performs general patient care per established standards.
• Greets and prepares patients for the provider.
• Records vital signs and patient data.
• Performs routine tests such as EKG.
• Schedules diagnostic testing and follows up on results.
• Documents care plans and exam results.
• Communicates test results and care plans with patients.
• Keeps exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Escalates non-routine issues to management or providers.
• Ensures safety checks and quality controls are completed.
• Upholds patient privacy and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
