Job summary

Orlando Health ORMC Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support complex cardiac procedures in a high-volume center. The role requires independent EVH experience and thorough perioperative collaboration with surgeons.

Education includes RN with MN/MSN/DNP/PhD or equivalent, PA program credential, Florida APRN or PA licensure, and ACLS/BLS certification. This full-time position offers a first-shift schedule and hospital-based benefits.

Qualifications

Two years of Endoscopio Vessel Harvesting (EVH) experience.
APRN license in Florida with national certification.
Graduate of accredited physician assistant program.
ACLS/BLS certification.
MD/DO not required; the role supports cardiothoracic surgery teams.

Responsibilities

Performs complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for cardiac patients.
Assists on cardiac surgical cases as designated by surgeons.
Harvests saphenous veins independently (EVH) for appropriate cases.
Transfers patients to CVICU and remains until clearance by surgeons/intensivists.
Maintains call responsibility and on-site readiness within 30 minutes.
Contributes to perioperative orders and progress notes as needed.
Conducts daily rounds and participates in research as designated by surgeons.
Ensures compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
