Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Acute Care NP) to join a growing program. The role blends operative first assisting, ICU management, and perioperative patient care within a high-volume cardiac and thoracic program.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of first-assist experience and Florida licensure, with TEVAR/robotics experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program.
• Have a Florida license or be eligible to obtain one prior to starting.
• 2+ years’ experience in first assist for adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures (CABG, valves, aortic surgery).
• EVH or TEVAR experience a plus, training available.

Responsibilities

• Daily management of postoperative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients.
• Participate in urgent and emergent operative cases.
• Discharge planning and transition of care.
• Night and weekend OR call with 1:3 coverage; no overnight shifts.
