Job summary

Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, part of Orlando Health, seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to support cardiovascular surgical cases in the OR. The role requires independent patient care, orders, and perioperative management under surgeon guidance.

Responsibilities include assisting in pre- and post-operative care, documentation, and readiness to respond on site within 30 minutes. Florida licensure and BLS/ACLS/PALS are required, with 3+ years in a surgical setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program or advanced practice registered nurse program.
• Current Florida licensure as Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, renewed every two years.
• Maintains BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS and PALS certifications as required by patient population.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
• Assist CVOR staff and anesthesiologists in patient preparation.
• Assist on cardiac surgical cases as designated by surgeons.
• Remain with patient at completion of operation to transfer to CVICU.
• Maintain call responsibility and respond on site within 30 minutes.
• Write brief op notes in OH standards immediately after surgery.
