Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate care under the direction of RNs or licensed practitioners. You will support patients in their assigned unit, monitor conditions, and communicate changes to the health care team.

The role requires a High School degree or equivalent and CNA certification; BLS required. Prior healthcare experience preferred. You will maintain safety, assist with daily living activities, and help with specimens and data collection.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare environment.
• Completion of foundations/ clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA BLS HCP) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and direct care, monitor patient conditions and report updates to the health care team.
• Maintain safe, clean, stocked environment to meet patient needs.
• Record admissions data, vitals, intake/output, and other patient information.
• Attend mandatory trainings and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Assist with feeding, ambulation and activities of daily living.
