Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to collaborate with cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgeons. You will provide advanced assessment, differential diagnosis, and initiate treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves supervision under a physician, pre/intra/post-care of cardiac and thoracic patients, and documentation such as histories, rounds and discharge summaries.

Qualifications

• Completion of PA/NP program that is ARC-PA/CCNE/NLNAC accredited.
• Current MA licensure as PA/NP in Michigan.
• BLS and ACLS required; DEA/CSL via credentialing.
• Robotic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced assessment, differential diagnosis and clinical decision making with cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgeons.
• Operate under supervision, not always in the presence of a physician staff member.
• Assist in pre-, intra-, and post-care of cardiac and thoracic patients; collect histories, perform rounds, record discharge summaries, assist in procedures, harvest veins during surgery, and develop post-operative plans.
• Credentialed procedures within the specialty are determined by background training and credentialing.
• Flexible to work at least two shifts per month.
• Robotic experience is preferred.
