Job summary

CVS Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Patient Educator to apply clinical skills to educate patients and caregivers on PAH therapies, including infusion training.

You will collaborate with physicians and nursing teams, support patients transitioning to infused or inhaled therapies, and provide in-person education during visits, with about 20% remote travel.

Qualifications

• RN with an unrestricted IA license and ability to obtain multi-state licensure.
• Minimum 2 years in critical care or high-tech infusion settings.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care with physicians, clinicians, pharmacy operations, and sales teams.
• Assist patients initiating or transitioning to infused or inhaled PAH therapies.
• Educate patients and caregivers in administering oral or inhaled therapies.
• Visit patients in person for education and follow-up on infusion therapies.
• Develop strong relationships with patients and healthcare teams.
• Participate in on-call shifts as needed.
• Build rapport with medical staff at multiple care sites.

About This Role

As a Cardiopulmonary Patient Educator with CVS Health, you will utilize your clinical skills to educate patients and their caregivers on complex Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) therapies, providing infusion training and clinical support.

• Pay: $54,095 - $116,760/year
• Location: Des Moines, IA
• Schedule: Full-time
• Travel: Approximately 20% remote, 80% in-person visits within IA, NE, SD, and ND

What You'll Do

• Consult and collaborate with physicians, clinicians, pharmacy operations, and the sales team to coordinate the patient's plan of care.
• Assist patients initiating or transitioning to infused or inhaled therapies for PAH.
• Develop deep relationships with patients and caregivers in a one-on-one setting.
• Participate in on-call as business needs require.
• Educate patients on how to administer their oral or inhaled therapies.
• Visit patients in-person for education on infused therapies.
• Build positive business relationships with all levels of medical/clinical personnel.

Requirements

• Education:
  • RN Diploma, Associates or B.S. degree in nursing
• Experience:
  • 2 years in a critical care or acute care hospital setting providing high-tech infusions, or 2 years of high-tech home infusion experience
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current unrestricted RN License in IA with ability to obtain additional licensure for multi-state service area
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required
