Job summary

CVS Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Patient Educator to apply clinical nursing skills, educate patients and caregivers about PAH therapies, and provide infusion training and clinical support.

You will collaborate with physicians, clinicians, pharmacy operations and the sales team to coordinate care, visit patients at home, and travel within IA and nearby states. On-call rotations and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

As a Cardiopulmonary Patient Educator with CVS Health, you will have the opportunity to use your clinical skills to be an educator to your patients and their caregivers, helping them understand their complex Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) therapies by providing infusion training and clinical support.

**This is a direct hire/full-time position.

In this role you will:

• Consult and collaborate with physicians, clinicians, pharmacy operations and the sales team to coordinate the patient's plan of care.
• Work within a highly specialized area of nursing and enjoy the autonomy that comes from working within a home care service.
• Assist patients who are initiating or transitioning to infused or inhaled therapies for PAH.
• Develop deep relationships with patients and caregivers in a one-on-one setting.
• Have excellent written and verbal customer service skills and advanced computer skills in order to interact with key partners
• Participate in on-call as the business needs.

Travel:

• You can expect to work from home approximately 20% of the time when you are educating patients on how to administer their oral, or inhaled therapies.
• You will spend approximately 80% of your time visiting patients in-person when you are educating them on their infused therapies. About 80% of this time within the state of IA and the remaining 20% in the states of NE, SD and ND.
• Overnight visits occur 1-2 nights/week.
• Candidates must reside within one hour of Des Moines International Airport.

Required Qualifications:

• Must live within one hour of Des Moines International Airport
• Registered Nurse with a current unrestricted license in the state of IA with ability to obtain additional licensure for multi-state service area
• Two years of experience in a critical care or acute care hospital setting providing high-tech infusions, or two years of high-tech home infusion experience.
• Ability to build positive business relationships with all levels of medical/clinical personnel.
• Ability to travel as noted in the position summary and as business needs require.
• Have and maintain current CPR certification.
• Possess a valid and current driver's license and auto insurance.
• Participate in the on call rotation as determined by staffing and business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in caring for patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension - PAH is great, but not required
• Home healthcare and pediatric experience is preferred, but not required
• CRNI certification is preferred, but not required

Education:

• RN Diploma, Associates or B.S. degree in nursing

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$54,095.00 - $116,760.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
