Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group in Waterbury seeks a Surgical Scheduler to coordinate cardiology procedures and pre/post visits under the provider's direction. This full-time, day-shift role ensures accurate scheduling and patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years healthcare office experience; medical terminology preferred.
• Prior surgical scheduling experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper provider schedules and coordinates surgeries in an efficient manner.
• Accountable for obtaining pre-surgical testing, arrangements and reporting to pre-admission testing.
• Schedules procedures in a timely manner based on diagnosis and urgency.
• Completes pre-authorizations and prior approvals from third party payers for radiology and surgical procedures.
• Captures patient information and maintains accurate data in the EPIC EMR.
• Coordinates information exchange between physicians, groups and Saint Francis/Hospital.
• Reviews discharge instructions and schedules follow-up appointments.
