Job summary

Duke University Health System’s Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, seeks a New Graduate or Experienced Registered Nurse for the 7700 Cardiology Stepdown Unit. You’ll care for adults post-cardiothoracic procedures and work 12-hour shifts with rotating day/night schedules.

New hires may receive up to $25,000 nursing loan forgiveness and relocation assistance based on eligibility. BSN encouraged within two years; NC RN licensure and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ADN or Nursing Diploma program.
• BSN encouraged within two years of start date but must complete BSN within seven years.
• Must have current NC RN license (or compact license).
• BLS required (renewed during orientation if not current).

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide and document professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Assist other healthcare personnel in patient care delivery.
• Maintain the environment of care and prioritize workflow.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and support learner growth.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
