Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC is seeking a Clinical Nurse RN for the 7700 Cardiothoracic Stepdown Unit. We hire new graduates or experienced RNs who will deliver professional nursing care, follow the nursing process, and support patient and family education.

Shifts are 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am on a 3,12-hour rotating schedule; relocation support is available and loan forgiveness up to $25,000 for new hires.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ADN or nursing diploma program.
• All RNs without a Bachelor’s degree are encouraged to enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete within seven years.
• Must have current NC RN licensure or compact license.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide and document professional nursing care according to physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Assist other healthcare personnel in the delivery of patient care.
• Maintain the environment of care and prioritize work with available resources.
• Support professional development and participate in performance improvement activities.
