Job summary

SouthCoast Medical Group in Savannah, GA is seeking a full-time Scheduler for the Cardiology Department to manage patient appointments with accuracy and courtesy.

The role requires clear communication, professionalism, and experience with multi-line telephone systems. You will book, coordinate and reschedule appointments, collect patient information and maintain schedules. Medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred; benefits include health, 401(k) and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must communicate clearly and speak concisely.
• Experience with switchboard operations preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Make and schedule patient appointments efficiently and timely.
• Books, coordinates and reschedules appointments; relays messages.
• Schedules patients with providers; arrange interpreters as needed and document.
• Collects and verifies patient demographics; updates profiles.
• Maintains physician schedules; ensures appointments are confirmed.
• Answers telephones; screens calls; provides general information.
• Addresses questions about appointments and outpatient scheduling.
• Inputs updates daily into master schedule; notifies staff as appropriate.
• Performs or assists with other non-clinical duties as assigned.
