Job description

Medical Cardiology Opening - Somerset, PA

Located in Southwest PA, 70 miles to Pittsburgh.

Position Details

1. Full-time, permanent
2. Hospital employee
3. The department currently employs two full-time cardiologists: one non-invasive and one interventional.
4. There are two physician assistants at the practice, one full-time and one part-time, with a third full-time position being added due to increased volume.
5. An electrophysiologist sees patients once a week and performs procedures.
6. The practice runs a pacemaker clinic weekly.
7. The practice location is conveniently across the street, facilitating easy movement between inpatient and outpatient settings.
8. Non-invasive cardiologists rotate weekly between inpatient and outpatient services, supported by physician assistants.
9. Hospital services include rounding/consults, TEE procedures, stress tests, echoes, and EKGs.
10. Medical call duties are shared among non-invasive cardiologists, with some weekend coverage provided by locums and physician assistants.
11. The interventional cardiologist has been with the practice since 2016 and is well-known regionally for his exemplary care.
12. The medical cardiologists have been with the practice since 2019.
13. The physician assistants have several years of experience working under the cardiology team.
14. The outpatient practice uses Epic as its EMR system, while the hospital currently uses Paragon Allscripts, planning a future transition to Epic.
