Cardiology/CDS Physician Locums Job in California

Assignment Shift Description:

24-hour call, 6am-6am

Dates of Coverage:

• June 2-4
• June 6
• June 16-18
• June 20-23
• June 30
• Ongoing each month

Requirements:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible
• DEA
• California State License
• Hospital privileges at a Joint Commission (or equivalent) accredited hospital within the last two of four years
• Local candidates highly preferred; no flights needed
• Current certification in Internal Medicine with active participation in certification process for added qualifications in cardiovascular medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, to be achieved within five years of residency completion
• OR successful completion of an accredited fellowship in cardiovascular medicine with at least three years devoted to cardiovascular medicine
• EMR: Cerner

Setting & Workload:

• Inpatient admissions: 3-4 consults per day
• Supervised stress tests: 4-8
• Echocardiograms: 5-12

Duties:

• Consult patients in ED and inpatients
• Collaborate with hospitalists and specialists
• Supervise stress tests (pharmacological/exercise)
• Interpret outpatient and inpatient echocardiograms
• Manage Holter and event monitors

Optional/Ideal Procedures:

• Perform TEE
• Optional: Transvenous pacing, tilt table interpretation

Types of Cases:

Typical non-interventional community hospital cardiology cases

Support Staff:

Cardiology Manager, echocardiographers, and cardiology technicians
