Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations, and consultations.
• Relays information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests and examinations.
• Coordinates visits within the department or between several departments.
• Telephones and interviews patients and/or family members to obtain accurate pre-registration information and to confirm appointments.
• Prints and mails directions, maps, fee schedules, and department information to patients.
• Verifies and enters pre-registration and insurance information into the computer system and prepares daily schedules.
