Job summary

Inova Health is seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team on a PRN day shift with clinic hours Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. This role supports outpatient operations in a cardiology clinic, delivering patient education and safe, holistic care.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing degree, a valid RN license in Virginia, and BLS certification. Experience requirements are minimal; the role focuses on strong clinical judgment and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• RN license in Virginia or eligibility
• BLS from American Heart Association
• BSN within 5 years if ADN holder, or BSN as entry
• 0 years of RN clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Performs essential duties in outpatient clinic operations: full intakes, reconciliation of medications, patient education, stress testing (echo/nuclear)
• Provides safe holistic care in a physician practice or outpatient setting, incorporating family education and outcomes-focused care
• Offers guidance to others as a resource, preceptor, and mentor while improving care delivery and efficiency
• Makes independent clinical decisions based on education and experience
