Job summary

Aultman Health Foundation in Canton, OH, is seeking an Office Specialist for the Cardiovascular Consultants team. You will handle prior authorizations for testing and procedures and coordinate with nursing staff and insurers to ensure coverage and timely scheduling.

You will verify CPT/ICD codes, maintain patient confidentiality, and support the Practice Manager with daily administrative tasks in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procedure authorization and its impact on revenue cycle.
• Understanding payer policy guidelines to manage authorizations.
• Basic understanding of human anatomy, specifically cardiac.
• Proficient use of CPT and ICD-IO codes.
• Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word and internet use.

Responsibilities

• Ensure prior authorization obtained for all upcoming testing and procedures ordered by physicians.
• Work closely with nursing staff, local hospitals and insurance companies to ensure procedures are covered by patient\'s health plan.
• Honor patient and co-worker confidentiality.
• Other duties may be assigned by the Practice Manager.
• Understand insurance plans accepted by CVC and rendering facilities.
• Obtain precertification number for all tests and procedures.
• Determine in/out of network benefits and best facility for insurance.
